29.06.202609:19:10UTC+00Cyprus Industrial Output Growth Slows in April

Industrial production in Cyprus rose by 1.4% year-on-year in April 2026, easing from an upwardly revised 4.9% increase in March and marking the weakest expansion since October 2024. The slowdown was mainly driven by more moderate growth in mining and quarrying (4.5% vs. 9.2% in March), manufacturing (0.6% vs. 3.1%), and electricity supply (6.9% vs. 19.0%).

In contrast, activity in water collection, treatment and supply accelerated (15.4% vs. 13.9%), while water supply and materials recovery recorded a slightly stronger increase (4.4% vs. 4.1%). At the same time, materials recovery remained in contraction, with output declining at a faster rate (-9.1% vs. -7.1%).

Over the January–April period, industrial production expanded by 1.6% compared with the same period a year earlier.
